Uh Oh, More Anti-Science Loonies

Three guesses which major cable TV news network just bashed global warming science - again. You shouldn’t have needed more than one to guess Fox News. The network by and for mental cases has, once again, invited various crazies on the air to spout crap.

Pat Michaels and Dan Gainor were on Your World with Neil Cavuto, suggesting that the Denver snowstorms are proof that global warming is not happening. Michaels said of scientists’ evidence that snowstorms can be worsened by global warming: “If you believe that warming causes cooling, you’re like my neighbors down in Virginia who think that if you put hot water in the ice cube tray, it freezes faster. It doesn’t work that way.”

Scientists, of course, have mountains of evidence that increased CO2 levels actually increase levels of both localized extreme cold and localized extreme heat, as well as increasing humidity and precipitation.  But I guess that when you have to lie about the existence of your official position in the field, you’re not the kind of person who actually cares about getting the facts right.
